Introduction
The Jao Tsung-I Academy Heritage Hall uses technology to connect historical memories, guiding the public through the “eight transformations” of this century-old heritage site—from the late Qing Dynasty Kowloon Customs Station and quarantine station to today’s vibrant cultural hub—showcasing the growth between the heritage and the city.
Heritage Hall (1) features projections, interactive devices, and nostalgic props, allowing visitors to explore the history of Hong Kong and JTIA through the exhibitions.
Heritage Hall (2) presents miniature artworks by the JTIA’s Artist-in-residence Tai Yau On, along with a workshop on the “Kowloon Customs Boundary Stone,” linking art with heritage conservation.
The new heritage hall aims to blend education, art, and technology, bringing vitality to this historic building amid changing times, and creating a cultural hub where citizens and visitors can enjoy art, relax, and build shared memories together.
