Guidelines for Pets with Special Permits Entering JTIA

Except for specially arranged events, pets are strictly prohibited from entering JTIA. (Guide dogs and pets with special permits issued by JTIA are exempt.)

1. If you are not a guest of Heritage Lodge’s pet-friendly rooms, please visit one of the food and beverage services (cafe or restaurant) in the mid-zone to obtain a pet identification bracelet (permit). The owner or their pet must always have the bracelet in a visible position for staff identification.

2. All pet owners and pets must comply with the Visitor Guidelines and Rules and Precautions for Pets with Special Permits published on the Jao Tsung-I Academy’s website.

3. Staff have the right to ask pet owners and pets who are not wearing identification bracelets or who violate the Visitor Guidelines and Rules and Precautions for Pets with Permits to leave the grounds without objection.

 

Rules and Precautions for Pet Owners

1.      Each visitor is limited to two pets (only cats and dogs are allowed. If visitors bring other types of pets, they need to contact the staff in advance and get approval). The maximum weight for pets allowed is 25kg.

2.  Pets entering the venue must possess a valid license issued by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department(AFCD), a microchip certificate, and a complete vaccination record. Any liability arising therefrom shall be borne by the pet owner, not the responsibility of JTIA.

3. Pets must be on a leash at all times or placed in a pet carrier or vehicle.

4. Pets are not allowed in any indoor or enclosed areas of JTIA. (except for pet zones designated by the cafe or restaurant).

5. Pet owners are responsible for their own and their pet’s safety and assume full responsibility for any injury caused to others or other pets by their pets. Pet owners may be prosecuted and held legally liable, and JTIA shall not be held liable in any way.

6. Pet owners must be able to care for and control their pets.

7. JTIA is a Grade III historic building. Pet owners and their pets are requested to respect the historic walls and other facilities. Pet owners are responsible for promptly cleaning up pet waste to maintain the cleanliness of the venue.

8. Pet owners and their pets may take photographs, but tripods, reflectors, or other props that may obstruct visitors are prohibited, and please ensure public passageways remain clear.

9. Pet owners and their pets must strictly comply with the Public Health (Animals and Birds) Ordinance (Cap. 139), the Cats and Dogs Ordinance (Cap. 167), the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance (Cap. 169), the Rabies Ordinance (Cap. 421), and the Protection of Endangered Species of Animals and Plants Ordinance (Cap. 586), as well as the subsidiary legislation of these Ordinances and all other relevant legislation. 

10. JTIA reserves the right to amend the above rules. In the event of any objection to the above rules, JTIA’s final decision shall be final.
