Hong Kong Emerging Artists Exhibition - Phase 5

Phase 5 features four Hong Kong young artists with distinct artistic styles, working across media including acrylic painting, printmaking, photography, and Guangcai (Guangzhou painted porcelain). The themes of their works revolve around the traces and transformations of life—ranging from everyday moments and travel experiences, to the figures of grassroots workers and the 13 Streets of To Kwa Wan, which are currently facing redevelopment. Together, these works offer intimate reflections on the world as seen through the eyes of contemporary youth.

Foreword

Sponsored by Simon Suen Foundation and co-organised by Jao Tsung-1 Academy and Sun Museum, the Hong Kong Emerging Artists exhibition aims to provide a free platform for young local artists to showcase their works, enabling audiences to discover their artistic styles, and to support their journey towards becoming shining stars in the art world. We also hope to carry forward the vision of the world-renowned sinologist, Professor Jao Tsung-i, to revive Chinese culture, encouraging young artists to unleash their unique creativity while valuing Chinese cultural heritage, producing innovative works that contribute a new chapter to the development of Hong Kong's visual arts.
The Hong Kong Emerging Artists initiative recruits local artists aged 18 to 40 through an open call, selecting works that demonstrate creativity, technical skill, and elements of Chinese cultural artistry.
