100 Photos: A Story of Our Times

Ever since the Qin and Han Dynasties, Hong Kong has been part of China. It is also an important harbour along the trade routes between China and the World. Within the 100 years after its cession to Britain in 1841 by force, Hong Kong evolved into an important entrepot and trading centre, playing the significant role of a cultural link between the East and the West.  After the Second World War, it eventually developed into a global financial hub renowned for its prosperity and industrial and commercial advances. The turmoil of our changing times and the unquenchable spirit of our forefathers were deeper than any words could describe.

Although the historical photos are but snapshots of fragments in time, those transient moments of greatness they managed to capture will survive all ages and become timeless. Let us sit back and feel for ourselves all that we may or may not have come through and listen to stories that may or may not have been told.
